I couldn’t contain my excitement when the Resiners Airless Bubble Removal Machine arrived. I had been eagerly anticipating its arrival, and let me tell you, it didn’t disappoint. I’ve been looking at a lot of different vacuum and pressure pot options recently for removing bubbles from resin, so the timing of being able to get my hands on this product was perfect.

Let’s start with the lid. It’s undeniably sturdy, but I must caution you about lifting it with one hand. Without any grip, it can be a bit slippery. Using both hands is the safer option, but even then, there isn’t much surface area to hold onto when removing it from the pot. It would be helpful to have some sort of grip on the lid to make handling it easier. Nevertheless, its strength is reassuring.

Now onto the overall design. This machine is incredibly compact, which is a major plus. It won’t take up much space in your work area, unlike traditional vacuum chambers that consist of a vacuum pot and a separate machine pump. Its sleek appearance doesn’t intimidate, and it feels solid and well-built. One feature that really impressed me is the pause button. It’s a brilliant addition because it allows you to have better control over the vacuum chamber. Unlike other machines where you need to manipulate the valve, the pause button simplifies the process. The buttons are clear and straightforward, which is ideal when you’re working under the time pressure of resin’s pot life.

With the Resiners Airless Bubble Removal Machine, you receive ten measuring cups. These cups are marked up to 230ml and 8oz, making it convenient to measure out your resin accurately.

One thing to note is that the machine comes with a US plug. So, if you’re in the UK like me, make sure to grab an adapter. I hope they consider offering UK plugs in the future to cater to a wider audience. (EDIT – UK plugs are now supplied)

Using the Resiners Airless Bubble Removal Machine

I can’t stress enough how effortless this machine is to use. Although I studied the instructions multiple times, I quickly gained confidence and felt ready to tackle my first attempt.

When I first read the instructions, they advised against using more than 3 ounces (89ml) of resin to prevent overheating. However, it can be quite challenging to measure out an odd number of parts A and B resin. In my case, I used 80ml. 40ml of part A and 40ml of part B.

Using the machine was a breeze, as it was intuitive and uncomplicated. The buttons are clearly labeled, and after pressing the power button, the machine starts working almost immediately. During my initial run of nine minutes, I noticed there were still quite a few bubbles, so I decided to give it another nine minutes. This time, the result was much clearer, with only a few slightly larger resin bubbles remaining on the surface. It’s worth mentioning that it takes a little time to start noticing a significant difference in the resin. Initially, the change is gradual, with the resin becoming clearer from the bottom of the pot. The process may seem a bit slow, but patience pays off.

Turning off the machine and pulling out the valve caused those surface resin bubbles to pop. The photo below shows the resin before (left) and after using the machine, showcasing the remarkable difference. In the first photo, the resin is filled with hundreds of microbubbles, while in the second photo, only a few, if any bubbles remain.

Comparing it to a traditional vacuum chamber, the Resiners Airless Bubble Removal Machine wins in terms of compactness. It doesn’t demand as much space and equipment as a vacuum chamber with a separate pump. Its robust construction gives a sense of quality, but I do have one minor design gripe—the lid’s lack of grip. It’s heavy and smooth, making it prone to slipping out of your hand. Even with two hands, there isn’t a convenient place to firmly hold it, aside from the thin lip that hangs over the pot when removing it.

My husband, on the other hand, had no issues holding it with one hand and believes my struggle is due to my smaller hands. Perhaps I can remedy this by adding rubber bands to create a makeshift handle on the lid.

Additionally, the presence of a rubber or silicone grip on the bottom of the pot is highly practical. The machine tends to vibrate quite a bit while in operation, and without the grip, it could easily slide across a smooth surface.

Is the Resiners Airless Bubble Removal Machine noisy?

I found the machine was a lot quieter than I expected. There is just a buzzing noise which I think it due more to the vibrations rather than the machines pump itself. It’s louder if you allow the wire to touch or rest against the machine as the wire vibrates against it. You shouldn’t have any issues with the noise but if for some reason you do find the noise annoying just remember it’s not for very long.

Pot Sizes

Now, let’s discuss the size of the pot provided for mixing resin. As someone accustomed to using smaller pots, I found it challenging to mix a small amount of resin in such a large container. Consequently, I likely introduced more bubbles than I would have in a smaller pot. However, as long as you’re working with a resin that has a longer pot life, there’s no need to panic about the time it takes to remove those bubbles.
