Along with my recent tutorial on how to make a custom silicone mould, you can now download a PDF step by step guide on silicone mould making. The guide illustrates how you can easily make a flat top custom silicone mould using common household items, as well as some popular 1-2-1 Easy Mould silicone rubber to make the mould.
As a two-part liquid silicone they mix easily with a simple 1:1 ratio, and therefore react to form a translucent off white coloured flexible, elastic material with high tensional and tear strength. The cure time, depending on the hardness is typically between 1 to 4 hours. All you need are some items or an item to cast and you’re good to go.
In this guide I use a variety of small objects with different textures and shapes, which provide a versatile mould you could use to make jewellery pieces from resin.
I hope you find the guide useful. Please download a copy below or follow the tutorial in my other post. I’d love to see your creations in the SMA group. If you haven’t joined, click here and join us.
